Cancellation of the New Year’s Eve Fireworks

This year – and in future – Marina Lachen will no longer hold the traditional New Year’s Eve fireworks display over the harbour of Lachen. Despite extensive clarifications, it is no longer possible to carry out a safe and legally compliant firework display, as no suitable vessel with captain and the required anchoring in the lake is available. Alternatives – such as launching fireworks from the jetty – also had to be ruled out for safety and logistical reasons.

In addition to these organisational and safety-related factors, considerations regarding noise protection, environmental impact and a more contemporary approach to New Year’s Eve celebrations have also played an important role. After consultation with the Eisfeld Lachen Association, which has contributed to the fireworks in recent years, we have decided to discontinue the fireworks going forward.

Our New Year’s Eve celebration will nonetheless remain festive and atmospheric, with an exquisite 4-course menu, magician, Elvis show and the wonderful ambience in and around Marina Lachen and the harbour of Lachen.
