myclimate “Cause We Care”
A conscious use of our resources is important to us. As part of the myclimate "Cause We Care" initiative, you can support us with a voluntary contribution and join us in promoting environmental and climate protection.
In the hotel and at seminars, meetings, banquets and catering events, you have the opportunity to actively support local climate protection measures. At the same time, selected climate protection projects are supported, thus avoiding or reducing the emissions that Marina Lachen itself cannot avoid. Part of the sum is used to support high-quality international climate protection projects run by the myclimate foundation. We invest the remaining amount in climate protection measures on site or in corporate environmental and climate protection.
This is how it works:
- As part of the "Cause We Care" initiative, you invest CHF 2 per person per night in climate protection at the hotel.
- You can contribute to seminars, meetings, banquets and catering with +1% of the event costs.
- Your contribution is voluntary. Please let us know at the time of booking or at the latest on departure if you do not wish to support the initiative.
- We double your contribution and put your and our amount into the hotel's own myclimate “Cause We Care” sustainability fund.
- The fund is utilised as follows: 25% is used to reduce the unavoidable CO₂ emissions of the service with myclimate (by supporting high-quality international climate protection projects) and 75% of the fund goes towards operational, local and ecological sustainability measures.
- Take responsibility for the CO₂ emissions of your stay. Together we achieve a double impact, locally and globally. For our nature, the environment and the climate. Thank you very much!

Agroforestry promotion programme in Switzerland, Germany, Austria and Liechtenstein
This regional climate protection programme for agroforestry provides funding for the planting and maintenance of trees on agricultural land in Switzerland, Germany, Austria and Liechtenstein. The agroforestry systems remove CO₂ from the atmosphere and thus act as CO₂sinks. Agroforestry also provides valuable habitats for various animal species.

Projects at the Marina Lachen
1) We are a premium member of SapoCycle and support the liquid soap recycling programme
SapoCycle is a non-profit organisation that collects and processes used soaps in European hotels and distributes the recycled soaps to improve the hygienic conditions of children and families in need. People with disabilities are responsible for soap recycling, which enables them to work in a stable environment.
2) Organic waste management and composting
We utilise organic waste for composting or as a resource for biogas plants.
3) Circular product design
We use ecological material for unavoidable disposable products, e.g. made of sugar cane, cardboard and palm leaf.
